PM Scholarship 2024 - Rewards
The Government of India has recently made important updates to the PM Scholarship by increasing the monthly scholarship amount for girls from ₹2,250 to ₹3,000, and for boys from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500. Additionally, 500 new PM Scholarships will be provided to the children of State Police officers who lost their lives in terror or Naxal attacks. Under the PM Narendra Modi Scholarship Scheme, ₹25,000 is offered to students who have passed their 10th or 12th grades. The scholarship amount and the duration for which it will be given are crucial details for applicants. Every year, a total of 5,500 eligible students benefit from this scheme, with the scholarships equally divided between boys and girls—2,750 each. The scholarship amount is ₹3,000 per month for girls and ₹2,500 per month for boys. The duration of the PM Scholarship can vary from one to five years depending on the length of the course.
PM Scholarship 2024 - Integrated Courses
To be eligible, students must have completed 10+2. When applying, they need to upload their 10+2 mark sheets, as well as mark sheets from the 1st and 2nd years (all semesters) if the first course is non-professional.
There are two types of integrated (dual degree) courses:
-
Professional/Technical Integrated Courses: In cases where both degrees are professional/technical, such as BE+ME, B.Tech+M.Tech, or BBA+MBA, only the first professional degree will receive the scholarship.
-
Non-Professional + Professional Integrated Courses: For courses where the first degree is non-professional (academic) and the second is professional/technical, such as BA+LLB, B.Com+LLB, or B.Sc.+B.Ed., the scholarship will cover only the professional part of the course, not the non-professional/academic part.
For example, in a BA+LLB course, the first degree (BA) is non-professional, and the second degree (LLB) is professional. The scholarship will only be given for the professional part (LLB).
If the first degree is non-professional and the second is professional, students applying for the PM scholarship from the third year onward must have passed the first two years of the non-professional course without any failures. If they fail or repeat any subjects, they will be ineligible for the scholarship. All subjects from the first and second years must be cleared in the first attempt and within the allowed time from the date of admission. Otherwise, the scholarship application will be rejected.
