Where is Manipur in India?

Manipur is a state in India, found in the northeastern part of the country. It shares borders with Nagaland to the north, Assam to the west, and Mizoram to the southwest. To the south and east, it is bordered by Myanmar (Burma). Similar to other northeastern states, Manipur is somewhat cut off from the rest of India. The name Manipur translates to “land of gems.”
