Why do We Need Government?

Governments are important because they keep peace and order, protect people from outside threats, and look after their well-being and happiness. Societies need laws to work properly. Without laws, life would be dangerous and unpredictable. Governments set rules and shape how people should behave every day. They also offer services like building roads, hospitals, schools, libraries, parks, and playgrounds, and provide police and fire services. A government’s job is to ensure safety and order, defend individual rights, and make sure everyone shares the responsibilities and benefits fairly. Some people think government should be limited, but having no government at all would lead to disorder and conflict.
