SSC CGL Selection Process 2024
The SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) exam is a multi-stage test held to hire candidates for various Group B and Group C positions in the Indian government. The selection process for SSC CGL 2024 has several steps:
Tier I: The Tier-I exam has four subjects: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each subject has 25 questions, making a total of 100 questions worth 200 marks. The exam lasts for 1 hour, with an extra 20 minutes for candidates who need a scribe. The questions are multiple-choice and are available in both English and Hindi, except for the English Comprehension section. There is a penalty of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
Tier II: The Tier-II exam consists of Paper-I and Paper-II, which are held on different days. Paper-I, required for all posts, has three sections:
- Section I: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, and General Intelligence with 60 questions, lasting 1 hour (1 hour and 20 minutes for scribe users), totaling 180 marks.
- Section II: English Language, Comprehension, and General Awareness with 70 questions, also lasting 1 hour, totaling 210 marks.
- Section III: Computer Knowledge Module with 20 questions, lasting 15 minutes, totaling 60 marks. Paper-I also includes a Data Entry Speed Test.
Paper-II is for candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II roles. It has 100 questions worth 200 marks and lasts for 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for scribe users).
