Trapezoid refers to a form of polygon or quadrilateral with at least two parallel sides. A trapezium has two parallel sides. The altitude or height is the perpendicular distance between the parallel sides. Maths Formulas List.

The perimeter of a trapezoid formula is given by

perimeter of trapazoidal formula

The perimeter of a trapezoid formula is given by P = a + b + c + d

Here, a, b, c, d are the lengths of sides of a trapezoid.

Solved examples of Perimeter of A Trapezoid Formula

  • Example: The legs of the trapezoid ABCD are 4 cm and 7 cm long. It has 12 cm and 15 cm bases, respectively. Calculate the trapezoid's perimeter.
  • Sol:It is given that
  • a = 4 cm
  • b = 7 cm
  • c = 12 cm
  • d = 15 cm
  • Perimeter is given by:
  • P = a + b + c + d
  • = 4 + 7 + 12 + 15
  • = 38 cm
