Full Form of ACF RFO

The full form of ACF is Assistant Conservator of Forest, and RFO stands for Range Forest Officer.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) and Range Forest Officer (RFO) exam is a competitive examination. The Uttar Pradesh, Public Service Commission conducts it. The purpose of this exam is to recruit eligible candidates for the post of ACF and RFO exam in Uttar Pradesh Forest Departement.

In addition, the selection process consists of a written test, a physical fitness examination, and an interview. The written exam is divided into two parts the general knowledge test. The second part is a subject-specific test related to forestry.

ACF ARO Exam Pattern and Selection Process

There are generally two papers in the ACF RFO exam. The first paper is Preliminary, and the second is Mains.

  • Prelims

The first paper in the ACF RFO exam is the Prelims exam. It consists of two papers, i.e. Paper I and Paper II. This exam consists of objective-type questions. The time given for both exams is 2 hours. Also, the exam is conducted in a single day. 

However, there is a negative marking of 0.33 for every wrong answer attempted by the candidates. Also, the merit will be determined based on the performance in both papers of the prelims exam.

In addition, there are 150 questions in Paper I, which is 200 marks. Besides, paper II consists of 100 questions for 200 marks.

  • Mains Exam

The candidates who pass the Prelims exam are eligible for the mains exam. Also, there is a total of 7 papers in the Mains exam of UPPSC ACF and RFO exam. In addition, each paper carries 200 marks, and the total attainable score for the examination is 1400.

ACF RFO Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must pass some eligibility criteria before appearing for the ACF/RFO exam.

  • Candidates applying for the ACF & RFO exam should be Indian citizens. 
  • Also, no previous experience is required to apply for the ACF & RFO posts.
  • There are no limits on the number of attempts for the RFO exam. Candidates can attempt the exam until they are within the age limit set by the UPPSC.
  • Furthermore, the candidate should be between the age of 21 to 40 years to be eligible for the ACF RFO exam. However, there are some age relaxations given to the backward category students.
  • Also, the candidates shall have a graduation degree in the relevant field from a recognized university. For the Assistant Conservator of Forest post, a Bachelor's degree in any one of the subjects of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Forestry, and Statistics is considered.
  • For the Range Forest Officer bachelor's degree in any of the above subjects or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Engineering and Veterinary Science is considered.
  • In addition, there is some minimum physical standard set by the UPPSC for the candidates. Besides, no candidates will be appointed if they don’t meet these criteria.

  • Also, there is a walking test for male candidates of 25 km, which is to be completed in 4 hours. Whereas female candidates need to cover 14 km in four hours. Besides this test will be conducted by the Chief Conservator of Forests.
  • Furthermore, if candidates are not mentally and physically healthy, their appointment will be canceled. 
  • Also, if a female candidate is pregnant for twelve weeks or more. They will be declared unfit. Besides, there will be a re-exam for fitness after six weeks.
  • Male candidates married to more than one wife are also not eligible.

ACF RFO Salary

The salary of ACF RFO varies based on the level of experience, job location, and other factors. However, the basic salary lies between 9,000 to 39,000 approx.

In addition, the UPPSC ACF and RFO receive various allowances such as House Rent Allowance, Dearance Allowance, Transport allowance, and other allowances. Other allowances such as medical facilities leave travel concession, and pension after retirement.
