Full Form of AMIE

The Full Form AMIE is "Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers." The AMIE exam is an engineer-level exam conducted by the Institution of Engineers in India for distance base admissions to BE and BTech courses. It is important to know that AMIE seems to be the only distance education gateway for students to learn engineering. All State and Central Governments, UPSC, AICTE, and other authors are recognized for the degrees thus awarded.

History of AMIE

The Institution was granted a Royal Charter on September 9, 1935, by His Majesty the King and Emperor George V, an earth-shattering event in the annals of engineering industry and training in India. The Royal Charter gave the Institution a duty to promote the study of engineering among individuals. Incorporated as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, IEI provides grants to support UG/PG/Ph.D. engineering students and conduct research.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates with or equivalent to a 3-year diploma in polytechnic in any branch of engineering are eligible to apply for AMIE. Please note that there will be no score restrictions in the admission process.
  • Candidates who have completed +2 / HSC / PDC with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as primary subjects with a minimum of 45 percent marks can apply for this examination.
  • Applicants with any training qualification equivalent to the above are also qualified to attend AMIE.
