International Air Transport Association is the full form of IATA. IATA is a private organization that facilitates cooperation between scheduled airlines worldwide to ensure safe, reliable and economical airline services, i.e. providing consulting services to the airline industry.
IATA's services include sales planning, cargo protection, capacity planning, airport traffic management, aviation security, airspace planning, etc. In addition, it provides management accounting and distribution, lending, accounting and fund clearing services.
History
- It was founded in Havana, Cuba in April 1945.
- It was the successor to the International Air Traffic Association (IATA), founded in The Hague in 1919.
- IATA initially has 57 airlines from 31 countries, but currently partners with almost 250 airlines.
- It has offices in Geneva, Switzerland. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Canada.
Role and Mission of IATA
- The IATA acronym stands for International Air Transport Association, which was monumental in creating the global airline public service.
- IATA's mission focuses on three types of action, namely industry representation, air transport regulation and government manipulation. IATA aims to:
- To promote clean, fair and economical air transport around the world
- Promote aviation business through your agency
- Tracking and solving issues related to the aviation industry
- Fostering cordial relationships between publishers and agencies
- Find ways to improve airline operations by minimizing cracks, closing gaps and increasing cooperation with other international transport agencies
Objectives
- Safety is IATA's primary concern. It offers a safety facility called the IATA Operational Safety Audit.
- Many countries still regulate it at the state level. 2012 is the best year ever for aviation.
- Software has been launched and program has been implemented to make it easier for passengers such as barcode boarding passes, e-tickets, ease of travel and many other items.
