About AP SSC Class 10 Telugu Syllabus 2026-27

The Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (BSEAP) has structured the Class 10 Telugu syllabus for 2026-27 to strengthen students’ reading, writing, and comprehension skills in Telugu while promoting literary appreciation and cultural values. The syllabus includes prose, poetry, a supplementary reader, grammar, and writing skills.


1. Prose (Gadya Khandam)

  • Stories and essays from modern and classical Telugu writers

  • Biographical sketches of notable personalities

  • Lessons focusing on moral values, patriotism, social awareness, and human virtues

  • Reading comprehension passages based on prose

(Around 8–10 prose lessons are prescribed.)


2. Poetry (Padya Khandam)

  • Poems from classical and modern Telugu poets

  • Themes include nature, courage, patriotism, devotion, and social values

  • Focus on recitation, pronunciation, meter, and literary devices

  • Analysis and interpretation for literary understanding

(Approximately 6–8 poems are included.)


3. Supplementary Reader (Pariksha Sahitha Grantham)

  • Short stories, folk tales, and moral narratives

  • Promotes creativity, imagination, and comprehension skills

  • Helps in vocabulary enrichment and fluent reading


4. Grammar (Vyakarana)

  • Parts of Speech: Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Conjunctions, Prepositions

  • Tenses and their usage

  • Sandhi, Samasa, and Synonyms/Antonyms

  • Voice: Active and Passive

  • Direct and Indirect Speech

  • Sentence formation, punctuation, and error correction

  • Figures of Speech and Literary Devices


5. Writing Skills (Rachanatmakam Lekhanam)

  • Essay Writing on current, social, and cultural topics

  • Letter Writing (Formal and Informal)

  • Story Writing and Narration

  • Paragraph Writing

  • Dialogue Writing and Conversation Practice

  • Diary Writing, Notice Writing, and Descriptive Writing

  • Translation exercises (English-Telugu and Telugu-English)


6. Internal Assessment / Formative Skills

  • Reading comprehension exercises

  • Listening and speaking activities

  • Oral recitation of poems and prose

  • Project work and assignments

  • Creative writing and comprehension tests


Exam Pattern (2026-27)

  • Total Marks: 100

  • Sections:

    • Section A: Reading Comprehension (Prose and Poetry)

    • Section B: Grammar and Vocabulary

    • Section C: Writing Skills (Letters, Essays, Paragraphs, Translation)
