The full form TGT is "Trained Graduate Teacher". TGT is a term for a teacher whose pedagogical training has been completed. A TGT is not known as a course but is a graduate trained in teacher education. If an individual is a graduate and has completed his B.Ed, then that person is a TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and no teacher training is required to become a TGT.

Eligibility Criteria for TGT
TGT teachers are qualified to teach 10th graders including 10th graders. The necessary criteria are listed below.
- The education required to apply for the TGT A entrance exam is a graduate degree from a recognized board.
- The maximum age limit for trained graduate teachers is 35 years.
- Teachers with a postgraduate degree and TGT are referred to as PGTs (Postgraduate Trained Teachers) and are authorized to teach in a school above 10th grade.
