CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Limit, Qualification for UG & PG

The CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses have been outlined by the Consortium of NLUs in the official CLAT 2025 notification. Released on July 7, 2024, this notification provides details about the educational requirements, minimum qualifying marks, and age limits for CLAT 2025. Candidates applying for CLAT 2025 should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam online.

As per the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria, students who have completed or are appearing for their Class 12 exams in April/May 2025 are eligible to apply for the CLAT UG exam. For CLAT PG, those who have completed their LLB graduation or are appearing for their final year exams in April/May 2025 can apply. Only candidates who fulfill the CLAT 2025 eligibility requirements should proceed with registration.

The CLAT 2025 exam will be held on December 1, 2024, in offline mode. The application process began on July 15, 2024. This exam grants admission to 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other institutions that accept CLAT scores for both UG and PG programs.

To apply for CLAT UG 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for PG

For CLAT PG 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications Candidates must have completed either a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a law school recognized by the Bar Council of India. Students in their final year of LLB are also eligible.
Minimum Marks Required General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 50% minimum aggregate marks. SC/ST: 45% aggregate marks.
Age Limit There is no age limit for CLAT PG 2025.

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Course

For those applying for the LLM program, the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria for UG and PG differ.

Educational Qualification and Marks

  1. Candidates should have completed either a 5-year integrated LLB or a 3-year LLB from a college recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  2. For General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required.
  3. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required.
  4. Final-year LLB students appearing in the April/May 2025 exams are also eligible to apply under the CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Course.

Age Limit

  1. There is no upper age limit for the CLAT eligibility criteria 2025 for the LLM course.

CLAT Eligibility 2025 for NRI Students

If you are an NRI student seeking admission through the NRI quota, you must meet certain specific CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025. Admissions are based on merit scores, and the university will decide the seat allotment for NRI students under the CLAT 2025 system.

NLUs Admission Criteria 2025

To be eligible for admission into NLUs, candidates must:

  2. Appear in the CLAT 2025 exam.
  3. Have their name included in the CLAT seat allotment lists.
