Brief introduction of Chapter 10 Mechanical Properties of Fluids

Fluid Mechanics-Fluid Mechanics can be divided into two parts namely

1. Fluid at Rest

2. Fluid in Motion

Pascal’s law, Archimedes principle, and Law of floatation will be covering fluid at rest.

Equation of continuity, Bernoulli Theorem, and Torricelli theorem will fall under fluid in motion.

Mechanical properties of Solids & Liquids    As an engineer to know the mechanical strength of the material used should be a matter of priority. In this chapter, we will discuss how materials behave when they are subjected to various types of loads. Various types of Stress and strain, Hook’s law, and elasticity will be covered.

Mechanical properties of liquids like Viscosity, Surface tension etc will be covered.
