B.Ed stands for "Bachelor of Education". B. Ed is an undergraduate education course for students who wish to pursue a career in teaching and related fields. Formerly called Bachelor of Teaching (BT). This training lasts 2 years. Students will be qualified to teach at high school and intermediate level after effective completion of the course. B. Ed is a requirement for every high school graduate in India to teach. A student must pass the B.ED entrance tests to study for the B.ED degree.

Eligibility of B.ED

  • Different course like  B.Sc (Bachelor of Science), B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) or BA (Bachelor of Arts) from a recognized board or university is the minimum qualification required for the Bachelor's course.
  • A minimum of 55% is required for the B.Ed course at the graduate level.
  • Few universities and colleges conduct entrance exams to select candidates.
