Altec Service Corporation purchased the company in 1941, and after the contract expired, Lansing formed Lansing Sound Inc. The D101 speaker model was invented in 1946 along with the D175 drivers. Operating rights were taken over by Jervis Corporation and renamed JBL Harman International.

During the 1980s, the company brought new products to market and introduced amazing dual voice technology. This greatly reduced the weight of the driver and improved the quality of the speakers. They also started making audio speakers using an advanced neodymium magnet.
