Full Form of TET

The full form of TET stand for Teacher Eligibility Test. The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is the least qualification needed in India to apply for a class (I - VIII) teacher position. The test is set to carry out the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education goals, a programme the Indian government launched in 2009.

TET exam overview

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is an entrance exam the government takes every year to recruit teachers in different states for government schools in India. The Central Government and the State Governments both oversee the test. It is, however, the minimum requirement needed to be able to work as a teacher for grades I through VIII. One of the government's most well-known programmes, the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, served as the impetus for introducing the test. 

The teacher eligibility test's main goal is to provide a national standard for selecting the most capable instructors under the Act. Additionally, it is to raise the bar for educational institutions in India.

It benefits not only the school but also the effectiveness of its students. Additionally, the exam assesses applicants' proficiency in relation to the standards that the state and federal governments of India demand of qualified teachers.

CBSE conducting the TET exam

The major authority for conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in India rests with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CBSE's duties include managing the necessary syllabus, guiding other government agencies in administering the TET exam, and maintaining the database for the teacher eligibility test. Teachers will be hiring for positions such as PRTs for Classes I to V, PGTs for Classes XI to XII, and TGTs for Classes VI to X with the help of TET.

Eligibility for TET 

One must meet all requirements listed under the Teacher Eligibility Test to be eligible to take it.

• The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
• He/she should have received a minimum of 45% on his/her graduation exam.
• Elementary education degrees, such as the B.Ed and Bachelor of Elementary Education, are also required in order to submit a complete application.

Preparation for TET

With the help of the comprehensive curriculum provided, one should be able to identify their area of interest. Also, the test takes place in two phases, the first one is for teachers from classes I to V and the second one is for teachers from classes VI to VIII. 

Given that the test is multiple-choice based, each correct response earns the person one mark. However, It's interesting that there are no negative marks in this exam, making it a little easy for the teachers applying. 

Paper 1

This exam section includes basic courses like child development, mathematics, languages, and environmental studies, which covers classes I to V. Furthermore, students will get 30 marks for each subject.

Paper 2

Subjects like physics, social studies, language, child development, and mathematics are covering this assessment phase. However, Maths, Science, and Social Studies receive 60 points in this section. The other subjects, on the other hand, only receive 30 marks.

• After carefully reviewing the data and filling out the personal information page, you can submit your MAHA TET registration form.
• Moreover, the final step is to log in using your registered username and password that you created in the previous step.
• Complete the application that is in front of you.
• Also, Upload all the files essential for successful submission.
• Above all, remember to save the form before sending it.
